When an employee decides to leave their workplace, most times there is a handshake, ‘thanks for your efforts and best of luck’. Perhaps (pre Covid) a farewell lunch or company assembly. One of the more important aspects for both the employer and employee, and one that if it is done, is usually poorly done, is to undertake an exit interview.

Despite the ups, downs and lockdowns, we are encouraged by the level of enquiries we receive about engaging us to lead recruitment assignments in the ‘for purpose’ sector. We note a higher demand than this time last year for leadership roles, particularly across fundraising and marketing. Does this mean recruitment has bounced back or some balance is returned?

We ran a poll on LinkedIn recently (and thank you to those who responded) around whether people are more or less likely to look for work this year. Given all the changes to workplaces and the relationships between employees and employers that occurred, it was interesting to see the results.
