Year of the Dragon

Lunar lunch 2024

Dawn adding ingredients in turn and sharing her culture.

Growing up in Singapore, there were 4 main ethnicities – the Chinese, Indian, Malay and Eurasians – and we all celebrated each other’s customs. And what better way to do this than with food!

This followed through when I joined the workforce, and a key highlight was always the Lunar (Chinese) New Year where organisations would organise Lion Dances to come into the offices to bring good luck, as well as gathering all clients for the Prosperity Salad Toss. It was a great and big way to start the year.

When I started with Gembridge, I introduced this to the team and it was such great fun, we did it again this year. With a bigger team, it was definitely louder and more fun.

What better way to start the year than with sprinklings of good luck and fortune for a great Year of the Dragon!

The salad is ready to toss to usher in good luck and fortune for the year.
